Foreign credentials recognition gets federal fast track

Foreign credentials recognition gets federal fast track

VANCOUVER – Many professionals from different countries, especially Asian immigrants, may soon be able to practice their respective professions in Canada. This positive development comes as Jason Kenney , Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, unveiled some positive changes to foreign credential recognition. Kenney announced recently that skilled immigrants in Canada will be able to access the help needed to jump-start their credential recognition process through expanded overseas orientation services. “We want newcomers to be able to use their skills as soon as possible in Canada,” said Kenney. “This funding will help them jump-start the credential recognition process before they arrive in Canada. It’s good for them and good for the Canadian economy.”

PINOY TRIVIA

KNUCKLE NOISE

Q. What cause one’s knuckle to crack?
A. Your finger bones are separated by small pads of cartilage, and in between these pads and the bones are small pockets of thick liquid. When you bend your fingers, the bones pull away slightly from the pads of cartilage, forming a vacuum between the bone, the pad, and the surfaces of the liquid. AS the bending continues and the bones are pulled farther apart, the surface tension of the liquid eventually gives way and the vacuum bubble bursts, making the cracking sound you hear. read more
